Research by the CredForce team showed that the global Digital Market stood at $186 Bn in 2015 and the numbers are projected to surpass $235 Bn by 2020.
Big markets throw up big job opportunities, and Digital Marketing is no different. In fact, while the overall job market growth has seen an overall growth of eight times (more than 800%) from 2009 to 2015. This momentum is expected to remain, if not grow, with most agencies and industry associations projecting 150,000 digital marketing jobs by 2020.
Special mention needs to be made of the Social Media category within the overall Digital Marketing jobs spectrum- This category has seen a 100% growth rate between 2014 and 2015.
As the industry continues its scorching growth, the big technology players, are of course, consolidating through numerous acquisitions. Cases in point being global giants like IBM, Accenture and Deloitte having acquired digital marketing agencies like Intunity, Heat, Cynergy Systems, among others.
